Old Glory Sport Fishing

We returned from our first Colonet trip of the year on Sunday morning. We took 13 anglers down and we ended up with 14 yellowtail,17 lingcod, a few big bonito and limits of rock cod. The guys fishing for yellowtail definitely had a chance. One passenger went 4 for 8 hookups another 3 for 5 I myself hooked 6 but only 2 made it to the boat. If you wasn’t to have a good chance with these bigger fish you need 40 or 50 pound test and a yo-yo iron or a dropper loop rig. Most of the fish are near the bottom which gives them a good shot at rocking you. Remember to hook these fish to just keep winding don’t hook them then lowers the rod because they will probably win. We are scheduled to run these trips all week but I think Friday night will probably be our next trip. Here is a shot of Glen with one of the three yellowtail he caught. Definitely a nice fish but not big enough for jackpot. Maybe next trip Glen. ... See MoreSee Less

Old Glory Sport Fishing

Even the kids got in on the action yesterday! Six year old Elizabeth caught two tuna and 11 year old John, the birthday boy, caught three! We finished the day with 91 yellowfin tuna and 7 skipjack. We only need a few more reservations for tonight’s trip to run so if you’re thinking about going, book your spot now. The fishing and the weather are too good to sit at the dock. Come on down and get in on the December tuna action!

Morning Update: Captain Kley reports 50 yellowfin on board so far this morning, with ample opportunity for more! These are a nicer grade fish, with all being over 30 lbs. They are still fishing, looking for more yellowfin and maybe some bluefin. The ocean is flat calm today, and should be for the next few days. With an extremely light load, beautiful weather, and awesome fishing, treat yourself to an early Christmas gift! The boat departs at 9PM tonight.

We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. We are back at it tonight, looking for the bluefin again. Plenty of room this weekend if you'd like to join us!

We finished up the day with 28 bluefin tuna, two yellowfin tuna, and one bigeye tuna. These fish wanted to bite and everyone definitely had their opportunity for limits! We are sold out for tonight but we do have lots of room tomorrow night. We will then take a few days off for Thanksgiving, as well as let the weather calm down, then we will be right back at it Friday night!
